Angelos Charalambous (a.k.a Petsua) is a director, editor, and animator based between Athens and Nicosia.
His work spans award-winning short and feature films, theatre productions, music videos, and commercial projects. In August 2025, he was selected to participate as a director in Talents Sarajevo, the emerging filmmakers program of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
Their film “Violence and Fire” (2024) won Best Film in the National Competition at Animafest Cyprus.
Their film “ERMA” has been screened at several international festivals, including the Cyprus International Short Film Festival, where it received a Special Mention and Animafest Cyprus where it won the Audience Award.
Working as a cinematographer, their short film “Tsoulakia” (2022) received the Best Student Film award at the IRIS Awards Greece, while “PITYLOS” (2024) premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
As an editor they worked on “SOLARIUM” (2025), which premiered at Art Rotterdam in March 2025. In December 2024, they edited live the eight-hour film “ALL THAT IS NOT IT”, a collaboration between “Sessions: A Series of Queer Happenings” and the State Gallery of Contemporary Art in Nicosia.
Currently he is working as an editor in the upcoming feature documentary “My Grandma’s Sister” and also as an assistant editor in varius films. Meanwhile he is preparing his upcoming short film “STRATOKAVLI” funded by EKKOMED.
